Banker’s Association for Foreign Trade (BAFT) launched a program this year to recognize people they see as future leaders in transaction banking. BAFT developed this program in response to a growing need to reinvigorate interest in transaction banking as a profession, while engaging a generation of leaders in issues affecting the entire banking industry.

We are pleased to share the news that our VP of Global Sales and Client Relations Nilesh Dusane is part of the very first BAFT Future Leaders Program.

“The inaugural class of 2016 includes 28 individuals from 12 countries and a variety of disciplines within transaction banking, each nominated by their respective institutions. The group will collaborate through three project teams to address common challenges for institutions including recruiting and developing new talent in transaction banking, payments compliance, and understanding the role of emerging technology in payments and trade finance.” —BAFT

Nominations were considered by the BAFT Board of Directors, which includes executives from the biggest banks in the world: HSBC, J.P. Morgan, Standard Chartered, and BBVA just to name a few.

“I am honored to partner with industry leaders to educate the community on applications for distributed ledger technology, and how it could affect financial institutions,” says Dusane. “We hope to bring fresh perspective to a universal industry challenge.”

Dusane’s group, which includes 10 leaders from such institutions as PNC, Citi, ING, and Bank of America Merrill Lynch, will present on banking applications for distributed ledger and blockchain technology.

Join us at the BAFT North America Annual Conference on Bridging Growth and Innovation, May 1-4, 2016 in Scottsdale, AZ.
