Financial inclusion is a human right

Adoption of crypto and blockchain can help dramatically increase global economic participation, opportunity, and resilience for billions of under-banked and unbanked people.

From enabling low-cost and always-on remittances in emerging markets to building Central Bank Digital Currency solutions for governments working to increase financial inclusion, our global crypto solutions are underpinned with the democratizing power of blockchain technology. Together with our partners and customers, we are working to transform a global financial system to meet the ever-evolving, everyday needs of everyone, everywhere.

Sustainability

Sustainable crypto solutions can help achieve global climate goals

As co-founders and active members of the Crypto Climate Accord, Blockchain x Climate leadership network, and WEF’s Crypto Impact and Sustainability Initiative, Ripple is committed to a low-carbon crypto ecosystem and global economy. We work with the XRP Ledger—one of the world’s fastest, most energy–efficient blockchains, and the first major blockchain to be carbon–neutral—to enable sustainable crypto solutions and power more efficient, scalable carbon markets.

Ripple is on track to achieve carbon net zero by 2030 or sooner through reduced emissions, clean energy use, and large investments in innovative carbon removal projects.

Blockchain has a vital role to play in achieving a zero-net emissions energy future. Ripple is taking the lead to ensure fintech is part of the effort to build a sustainable world that is not only transformative for banks and consumers, but also beneficial for the planet.

Academic Research and Development

Empowering tomorrow’s blockchain leaders today

Through the University Blockchain Research Initiative (UBRI), Ripple is at the forefront of research and technical development in blockchain and cryptocurrency, supporting groundbreaking academic research that helps drive increased adoption, scalability, and interoperability globally.

Since 2018, we’ve partnered with over 50 universities globally, enabling hundreds of leading faculty and thousands of outstanding students to produce 400+ new or expanded fintech courses and more than 1000 innovative blockchain research and technical projects.

We want to ensure students have the adequate mix of skills for a world where data and transactions take place on distributed ledgers, and Ripple’s UBRI will help us to prepare our students for the financial service’s digital future.
