Proposed Risk Mitigation Framework for Non-Financial Risks of Blockchain Infrastructures

Over the past decade, leading institutions and central banks across the world have worked on a broad set of experiments and initiatives which have demonstrated the profound benefits blockchain technology can bring to the financial system. But existing risk management frameworks do not adequately address public permissionless and public permissioned blockchain infrastructures.

This new risk mitigation framework created by GBBC and Oliver Wyman, in partnership with Ripple, DTCC, Euroclear and World Bank, is the first industry-wide guide for managing non-financial risks in public blockchain adoption. As institutions scale their use of public blockchain infrastructure, this framework will be essential to ensure trust, safety, and long-term adoption.
