Meet Ripple Mint

At Ripple, we’re focused on making digital dollars easier to access, integrate, and operate at scale.

Ripple Mint is here – a unified way for institutions to access, mint, redeem, and manage Ripple USD (RLUSD).

As stablecoins become embedded in trading, payments, and treasury operations, access must evolve beyond manual workflows. Ripple Mint reflects this shift, giving institutions the flexibility to interact with RLUSD either through a user interface or through programmatic integration.

Why Ripple Mint

Designed for institutional use, RLUSD is issued by Standard Custody & Trust Company, LLC, a New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) chartered trust company, providing the regulatory oversight and transparency that institutional adoption requires. For institutions operating at scale, that foundation matters. So does what's built on top of it.

Historically, RLUSD operations have been managed through a platform-based experience. While effective, this approach does not fully support the needs of institutions operating at scale, where automation, real-time visibility, and system integration are critical.

Ripple Mint expands how institutions access RLUSD by supporting both:

  • User interface access for operational control and oversight
  • Programmatic access for automation and system-level integration

This allows institutions to choose how they interact with RLUSD based on their workflows: whether managing activity manually through a web console or integrating RLUSD directly into their own infrastructure.

With Ripple Mint, institutions can:

  • Mint and redeem RLUSD directly from the source
  • Bridge RLUSD across chains
  • Track funds across the full lifecycle of a transaction
  • Integrate RLUSD operations into internal systems or workflows

Existing users can continue operating without disruption, with the same reliability, security, and compliance they expect, now through a platform designed to support both manual and automated workflows.

Built for Programmatic and Operational Workflows

Ripple Mint is designed to support both operational and programmatic workflows, giving institutions flexibility in how they access and manage RLUSD.

Through new APIs and webhook notifications, customers can now integrate RLUSD workflows directly into their own systems, enabling automation, operational visibility, and easier reconciliation.

Institutions can now:

  • Initiate redemption workflows through the user interface or API, with support for both fiat settlement and movement of RLUSD across supported blockchains
  • Query transaction status across the mint and redemption lifecycle
  • Access account balance information programmatically
  • Receive real-time webhook notifications for key lifecycle events, including fiat receipt, mint processing, onchain settlement, and payout completion

Each stage of the workflow is tied together through consistent reference IDs, enabling end-to-end visibility across both fiat and blockchain transactions. These capabilities are designed to reduce reliance on manual operational processes while making it easier for exchanges, market makers, fintechs, and institutional customers to scale RLUSD activity.

Over time, Ripple Mint will continue evolving into a more comprehensive institutional access platform for stablecoin operations and liquidity management.

Global Access to RLUSD

The future of digital assets is multichain. To serve both institutional finance and onchain ecosystems, stablecoins must be available wherever liquidity, applications, and users exist. At the same time, Ripple believes the next phase of stablecoin infrastructure should continue strengthening the XRP Ledger (XRPL) ecosystem.

That is why RLUSD’s recent multichain expansion is being anchored by the XRPL EVM Sidechain, alongside launches on Base, Optimism, Ink, and Unichain.

The XRPL EVM Sidechain is a critical part of this strategy. It combines compatibility with the EVM ecosystem and existing Ethereum tooling while remaining closely connected to the XRPLand broader XRP ecosystem. This allows RLUSD to participate in the flexibility and composability that have driven stablecoin adoption across DeFi and multichain finance, while still accruing value and activity back to XRPL infrastructure.

RLUSD was initially issued on the XRP Ledger and Ethereum with the goal of supporting cross-chain liquidity and institutional financial use cases. Expanding to these additional ecosystems continues that strategy by increasing access to RLUSD across:

  • Exchanges
  • DeFi protocols
  • Payment applications
  • Emerging onchain financial infrastructure

This expansion also creates stronger utility between XRP and RLUSD together. As RLUSD becomes available across these environments, XRP will increasingly serve as complementary assets for liquidity, settlement, swaps, collateral, and payments activity across supported chains.

By combining regulated issuance with broader multichain availability, Ripple is positioning RLUSD to support how the stablecoin market operates today while reinforcing the long-term role of XRP within that future.

A Foundation for the Next Phase of Stablecoins

Ripple Mint delivers what this next phase requires: flexible access, programmatic integration, multichain availability, and trusted, regulated issuance.

Stablecoins are evolving into core financial infrastructure — and the institutions leading that shift need access that's flexible, programmable, multichain, and regulated. Ripple Mint is built for that moment, enabling institutions to operate with digital dollars in a way that fits their systems, workflows, and scale.

Ripple Mint is available to existing RLUSD customers today.
