Ripple Impact's financial inclusion work is driven by a simple belief: blockchain is a powerful tool for expanding economic prosperity.

In 2025, that belief drove measurable results. In the United States, Ripple committed $25 million in RLUSD to expand access to capital for underserved small business owners and create career pathways for veterans. Globally, Ripple deepened partnerships putting Ripple Payments and the XRP Ledger to work in humanitarian aid delivery, microfinancing, and investments in frontier market entrepreneurs — so that every dollar moves farther, faster, and more cost effectively.

University Blockchain Research Initiative

In 2025, Ripple’s University Blockchain Research Initiative (UBRI) entered its seventh year with a sharper mission: moving from building a global academic network to deploying it. Through expanded grants, new accelerators, and hands-on residencies, UBRI turned university research into real-world blockchain applications.

Since its launch in 2018 as the first program of its kind, UBRI has grown into a cornerstone of Ripple’s commitment to innovation, having now supported more than 60 universities worldwide with over $74 million in funding deployed.

Leading on Sustainable Digital Finance

Ripple's sustainability strategy begins with XRP and the XRP Ledger. Core to our business and products, we build on one of the world’s fastest and most energy-efficient major Layer 1 blockchains. From that foundation, we aim to reduce our own corporate footprint, invest in high-quality market-based mechanisms across clean power, carbon, and sustainable aviation fuel, and put blockchain to work on real-world sustainability challenges from voluntary carbon markets to smallholder farming in Colombia.

Empowering Employees to Make a Difference

In 2025, Ripple employees showed up for their communities in record numbers — donating more, volunteering more, and giving to a wider range of causes than ever before. With 80% of employees participating in Ripple Impact programs and $550,000 raised for nonprofits worldwide, 2025 marked a new high-water mark for employee impact.
